We find this unique design of intermingling cultures dating back to the 1860s and 1870s. In those early days, Navajo artisans learned silversmithing from Hispanic artists in New Mexico. Creativity and innovation of the Navajo silversmiths soon gave way to many forms of jewelry — one of which was the squash blossom necklace. Now, a collectable piece for many from around the world.
