Turquoise Tuesday At The Ranch

Did you know some old timers call turquoise petrified water? Water filters down through rocks, dispersing and evaporating, depositing minerals as it goes. When the water is gone, after eons of time, veins of blue-to-green stones are left behind. And just like that, the elements create a reflection of the New Mexico sky in the form of a beautiful stone!

Sacred turquoise has been mined in New Mexico for more than 1,000 years. In the Native American culture, turquoise is referred to as “the stone of life.” A living mineral that has the ability to change color depending on its environment.

Regarded as a stone of good fortune and strength, the mystique of the Turquoise Trail has attracted visitors from around the world seeking a special kind of treasure. One that will always remind them of the soul of the land and the beauty from within. A true gift for those who love the spirit of New Mexico, and oh boy do we love turquoise here at Double Take!

As our anniversary continues this month, we decided we must have a Turquoise Tuesday!
